Gas emissions of Ugitech SA – France, 2014

Ugitech presented a report of its greenhouse gas emissions based on the Bilan Carbone® method for its French production plants in 2011. The aim was to evaluate our dependence to fossil fuels and adapt ourselves to the future energy challenges while reducing our carbon footprint.

The report on greenhouse gas emissions of Ugitech SA – France, for the year 2014, is available on this page (only in french). It has been realized according to the guide that the French Ministry for the Environment issued, as per the French law n°2010-788 of July 12th 2010 (loi « Grenelle II ») dealing with the national commitment for environment.

Summary :

Our greenhouse gas emissions’ distribution doesn’t have change since 2011 : for the emissions that are directly or indirectly linked to energy, the first emitting item remains the combustion sources (gas, reheating tools and metal heat treatment). Then we can find the emissions that are directly linked to our production process, from the raw material that we use in our electric-arc furnaces.

Since 2011, 1 072 TeqCO2 has been avoided thanks to our progress actions.

Our change levers are mainly on solutions to reduce our energy consumption. This approach is structured by our energy management system, certified ISO 50 001.
