Greenhouse gas (GHG) balance Ugitech SA – France, 2018

In order to assess our dependence on fossil fuels and adapt to the future energy challenges while limiting our carbon footprint, Ugitech has carried out its GHG balance according to the general requirements of the NF EN ISO 14064-1 standard (February 2019 version).

In accordance with frenchregulation, Ugitech has updated its greenhouse gas emissions report for 2018. This report is available on this web page. The scope of the balance sheet includes all French production sites.

Summary:

The distribution of our greenhouse gas emissions has decreased since 2014: regardingthe direct and indirect energy-related emissions, the direct emission related to combustion sources (gases, heating stations and metal heat treatment) remains the main emitter.

Our progress actions since 2014 have permitted to avoid the emission of 13,583 tons of CO2 equivalent.

To meet our environmental challenges, industrial sites have an environmental management system and are ISO 14001 certified (except Saint-Etienne).

Our actions are mainly focused on reduction of our energy consumption. This approach is structured by our energy management system, certified ISO 50 001. Ugine site has been IS0 50 001 certified since 2015. Ugine site represents more than 94% of Ugitech SA's energy consumption. An adapted organization, with energy correspondents and periodic exchanges, allows us to improve our energy performance
